How long does a typical deal take to close?
Typically, the average real estate transaction takes about 45 to 60 days from start to finish. Each deal varies based on the situation. For example, if you are buying or selling a vacant home it is generally faster to close compared to a house that is occupied because the occupants need time to relocate as well.
Do I need a home inspector?
Yes. It is worth every penny. If you are a seller, I suggest hiring a home inspector before putting your house on the market. You will be prepared to take care of any repairs a buyer might find and use to re-negotiate with you. If you are a buyer, I suggest hiring a home inspector before signing a contract so that you are aware of the homes condition and know exactly what you are buying.
